Methodist Preschool of Pacific Palisades is a warm, inclusive community where the spirit of childhood is valued and nurtured. Our goal is to foster curious, empathetic, confident and joyful learners in a stimulating, unpressured environment. We are a non-profit organization licensed by the State of California, Community Care Licensing Division. Your child is valued and respected as a capable individual who brings unique ideas, skills, knowledge, perspective and curiosity to the group. Children are encouraged to problem-solve (whether it’s in resolving a dispute over a much-sought after dinosaur toy, or figuring out how to attach two pieces of wire together for a self-portrait in the Mini Studio), develop self-help and independence skills, express themselves via a wide variety of materials and techniques, and become responsible, valuable members of our larger school community. The program is carefully planned to include a rich variety of creative, hands-on, developmentally appropriate, exploratory and play-based experiences. Our core program runs from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. (early drop off starting at 8 am and extended day until 3:30 p.m. available for an extra fee), with the time split between inside and outside activities. Our curriculum, which is developed with intention by the staff based on their observations of the children, utilizes the children’s interests in the classroom to create experiences that support social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth. We strive to achieve a happy balance of structured and unstructured activities.
